Happy Valentine’s Weekend everyone. Sorry I have been so m.i.a. the last couple months. Ever since we got engaged we have been pretty busy, luckily in a good way. On December 31st we closed on a new house so we spent most of January moving and remodeling the house. And the last week of January I flew to Argentina, my home country, to visit family and friends.
Argentina is a completely different world so I definitely felt the cultural shock when I was there. I spent all day every day with family and friends, enjoying the food and the nice 80 degree weather. Everyone was in a vacation spirit since they are in summer season right now. What I love most about being in Argentina is that I have all my friends and family 20 minutes away, so all our encounters were spontaneous, last minute and without much planning! We got together and it felt like I never left. We would laugh at inside jokes and remember old times. I was seeing everyone every day that I didn’t even need to check my social media accounts to be connected to people. It was nice being disconnected from reality for a while. And It was a much needed break that I need once a year to slow things down a little bit.
After three weeks there, although it was hard to say goodbye, I was ready to fly back home. When I left to visit Argentina we were still in the middle of moving to the new home and Nate had to finish moving while I was gone. So the night I came back it was my first night in our new home. I was back on February 14th, just in time for Valetine’s Day with my love and although the house was all dusty from construction, and furniture and closed boxes were everywhere. It was nice to be home to our new home, this time with much more energy and clear thoughts than when I left.
Since Nate and I couldn’t do anything for Valetine’s day because I spent the day flying and we both were tired, we are celebrating Valentine’s Day this weekend.
